Valerie Johnson, Secretary

Valerie Johnson has over 30 years of experience working in the non-profit and local government industries. Valerie currently works for the Alliance for Excellent Education, a nonprofit that focuses on equity. Valerie also works as a Mascot for PBS at a variety of events including the White House Easter Egg Roll and Cherry Blossom Festival. In her spare time, Valerie enjoys volunteering with a number of organizations including the Cherry Blossom Festival, National Park Service, Smithsonian Environmental Research Center and the Kennedy Center. Valerie serves on the Boards of GapBuster and Hope Restored. Valerie enjoys hanging out with her grandchildren and all things involving scenic and beautiful nature.
