AURELIA MARTIN
BOARD MEMBER
Aurelia Martin retired from DC Government with 30 years of distinguished service. After her retirement she accepted employment at City Place Mall in Silver Spring as a Marketing Assistant, she later became a Marketing Director and then one of the General Managers at the mall. She created many programs at the mall and provided an environment where the community could enjoy shopping, eating, recreation, and entertainment. Two of the more popular programs were ‘Kid’s Day’ and the ‘Senior’s Classic Club’ which serves thousands of children and seniors.
Aurelia is very active in the Silver Spring community. Some of her highlights include an appointment by Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan to serve as a board member of the revitalization of Downtown Silver Spring, Appointed to serve on the Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce, a Board member for the ‘Community Division for the Homeless’, Board member for GapBuster, Inc. Learning Center, and a Board Member for ‘Impact Silver Spring’. She has been the recipient of many awards and honors.
