MARYLIN PIERRE, ESQ

Marylin Pierre received her degree from Howard University School of Law, the same law school as Justice Thurgood Marshall, her inspiration for getting into law.

Marylin has been practicing law for over 28 years. Marylin’s area of practice includes family law, criminal law, juvenile law, business law, wills and estates, and probate law. Marylin has represented many clients whose cases have established precedents in Maryland.

In 2019, Marylin received the Leadership in Law award. Marylin received the Daily Record’s Maryland’s Top 100 Women award in2010, 2012, and 2014. In 2014, Marylin was admitted to the Daily Record’s Maryland’s Top 100 Women’s Circle of Excellence.

Marylin is recognized as a bar leader by the Montgomery County BarAssociation, a pro bono star by the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland, an honored veteran by the Lincoln Park Historical Society, a Woman of Achievement by the Montgomery County Chapter of the Business and Professional Women of Maryland, and a businesswoman of the year by the African-American Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery County.

Marylin is a past president of the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association, Maryland’s largest and most active specialty bar association. Marylin is the recipient of the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee Community Service Award, the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar AssociationCommunity Service Award, and the State National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Enolia P. McMillan “Women in NAACP” Award.

Marylin is a former chair of the Montgomery County Criminal JusticeCoordinating Commission, a board member of the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy, a former board member of the Montgomery County Historical Society, a former Deputy Division E Director of Club1

Growth and Retention of Toastmasters International, the vice president of the Rockville Mid-County Democratic Breakfast Club, and the legal advisor of the Business and Professional Women of Maryland.

Marylin is a retired First Lieutenant in the United States Army ReserveMilitary Police Corps, a former Court Appointed Special Advocate(CASA), a former representative on the Montgomery County Landlord-Tenant Affairs Commission, a former legal redress attorney for the NAACP, and a former member of the Maryland State Democratic Central Committee. Marylin and her husband, Reynold Pierre-Louis, have been married for over 26 years. They have two sons and a daughter.
